Connecticut Wedding Planner | Lila and Paul wed at Eolia Mansion

Lila and Paul (PJ as affectionately known to his family and friends) were married on a sun drenched fall day amidst a "Springtime in the French Countryside" Inspired Fete. The gathering of family and friends, the decor elements which infused the meaning of people who share their lives with them, and a nod to time traveled, well loved details brought together the intimate nature of Lila and Paul's celebration.

For Lila, a petite bride with a grande personality and impeccable taste, her wedding was a chance to leave the rigor of her intense day job behind, even if just for a day, and embrace her softer side. Paul, her strapping groom, always by her side, always looking to provide thoughts on design preferences, and absolutely adoring of Lila, is the best compliment a bride could ask for! As a couple and our clients, we felt a tremendous honor to share in their planning journey and wedding day.

Lila's wedding vision was built upon and inspired by her love of a blue and white Toile de Jouy linen from early on, and it proved to be the foundation for the entire event design. The backdrop for the wedding, the insanely gorgeous, seaside Eolia Mansion at Harkness State Park, and its adjoining gardens served as the perfect location to create the French Inspired Design.

A special thank you to Katie Slater for Carla Ten Eyck for capturing all of these incredible images from Lila and Paul's spectacular wedding day.

The afternoon setting sun created a warm buttery glow for Lila and Paul to marry, in front of the Pergola in the gardens along side the mansion. As guests warmed their shoulder's with a pink pashmina and sipped a Hot Toddy, Lila processed to no more fitting of a song than "Here Comes The Sun" by the Beatles, which was followed by a personalized and sentimental marriage ceremony. The flower girls handed out scented satchels of lavender for tossing.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres on the tented patio overlooking the lawn and calm waters of Long Island Sound, where Lila and Paul were then introduced to share their first dance and to be celebrated in toasts. Escort Cards were strung from aged shutters, each holding a vintage key.

Inside the mansion, guests were treated to flickering candlelight and shelves dressed with generations of family pictures, delicate china, and worn hardcover books. The tables were set with the blue toile linens and soft, fluttery, and feminine florals, loosely arranged and in full bloom, which gave the appearance of being freshly selected right from the garden. The tabletops were accented with gold chargers, gold rimmed china, and peach toned menu cards describing the exciting meal guests were about to receive. Rather than a French style dinner service as one would anticipate given the wedding design, Lila and Paul had a surprise in store. Family and friends were delighted with a nontraditional Brazilian Style Dinner service, where meats were butlered and family style side dishes were abundant.

Post dinner, guests danced the night away under the tent, and only took a break to embrace their playful side as they hopped in the photo booth, sipped coffee and tea, or enjoyed the most delicious apple cobbler and wedding cake. The night was complete as mini cupcakes in little gold boxes, tiered on floral china patterned cake plates were displayed as take home treats. The perfectly sweet ending to a lovable and oh so sweet couple's wedding!

Lila and Paul - much love and joy for a wonderful marriage and continued happiness together!

xoxo,
Talia, Lindsay, and Nicole
